Out of the loop about professional Dota 2? Or have you just slacked off? This year, Valve has recruited help in the form of Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner to get you up to speed.

The Dota 2 team and Kanner are releasing two unique sets of videos leading up to The International 8, which starts with group stages next week. They’ve started with a recap of the Dota Pro Circuit series, titled “Dota Pro Circuit Rewind 2018,” and will continue with Kanner’s famous “Down-Low” series that sums up teams’ year in Dota 2.

The Dota Pro Circuit Rewind is already up on the official Dota 2 YouTube. It’s about 20 minutes long and briefly recaps every event of the Pro Circuit, including highlights from many events.

“Down-Low” will release videos for three teams each day starting August 9th at 1 PM ET, running up to August 14th, the day before group stages.

Kanner started The International Down-Low series in 2015 to great reception, as both newcomers and fans wanting to keep up found the series to be pretty informative. He’s done it every year since on his own channel. This will be the first year Kanner, or any creator, will premiere a preview series with the help of Valve.

In the corresponding blog post, Valve says they will be releasing “select classic matches” on the official Twitch channel.
