The International 8 group stage results, main event bracket

Here’s how the group stage went down — and how that affects the main event

The first stage of The International wrapped up shortly ago, which means the final pieces of the main event are coming together — and the stage is being set.

This past week, the teams split into two groups, then battled all their fellow teams within the group in best-of-two matches. There were even three tiebreaker matches! But now, with all the matches complete, two teams have been eliminated from the competition, and the remaining sixteen are getting ready to battle it out.

The group stage was where the flow of the main event, taking place live at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, is determined. It’s also where the pace of the entire event’s competition formed, from team dominance to the way characters may be played until the winner is crowned. Now, we get to see that momentum roll onto the big stage.

For now, here’s where these teams stand — and how the bracket will go down starting Monday, August 20th, when the main event goes live.

[SPOILERS BELOW. Because it’s a results page.]
