It’s going to be a wild year for Dota 2 esports. Before The International 7, Valve announced a series of third-party competitive events to be directly sponsored by the developers themselves. It’s gotten crazier since then, as Valve confirmed the official number to be a whopping 27 LAN events over nearly 35 weeks.
This “pro circuit” will consist of 11 “Majors,” most with purses of $1 million, and 16 “Minors,” most worth $300,000 each. At each event, teams will also have “Qualifying Points” at stake that determine Direct Invites for The International 8.
If it seems a little bit overwhelming, don’t worry—we’ve put together this simple schedule of every single event, split by Majors and Minors, and the quick down-low on each.
Be sure to check back frequently, because we’ll update this as more news and events are unveiled!
Notes:
- Events are organized by Major/Minor, then LAN Finals date.
- Officially-confirmed/announced dates and information only.
- Qualifier dates are inclusive of all regions; dates may and will vary by region.
- Dates are listed as they appear on the official Dota 2 Pro Circuit page, unless this official list remains stale as events are announced and approach their announced dates.
Qualifying Points? “Sponsorship?” Mandatory regional open qualifiers? Still unsure about what the ecosystem entails? Check out our run-down of the details.
